The
plays run the gamut from social drama to audacious comedy to
poetic-theater-pieces-with-music. Themes include many of the usual late
20th century obsessions, such as combatting injustice, taking a stand,
pursuing dreams/following one's bliss, dumping one's baggage, reconciling
with one's ghosts, suicide, matricide, arson, saints & drag queens.
Current project: The American Moment: a trilogy of plays set 1913-1920, concerning Paterson silk strikes, Greenwich Village salons, and the founding of the Provincetown Players. Working titles: Paterson Falls; Mooncussers; The Art of Conversation. I'm a member of the Dramatists Guild, the Women Playwrights Collective and the International Center for Women Playwrights. |
