In February, 1999, Outward Spiral Theatre in Minneapolis presented Standing in the Shadows as their season opener. Last spring it was performed in De Kalb, Illinois and toured to Hertsfordshire, England.

The plays run the gamut from social drama to audacious comedy to poetic-theater-pieces-with-music. Themes include many of the usual late 20th century obsessions, such as combatting injustice, taking a stand, pursuing dreams/following one's bliss, dumping one's baggage, reconciling with one's ghosts, suicide, matricide, arson, saints & drag queens.
Current project: The American Moment: a trilogy of plays set 1913-1920,Opening Night, Robert Hoppe (my cousin!) concerning Paterson silk strikes, Greenwich Village salons, and the founding of the Provincetown Players. Working titles: Paterson Falls; Mooncussers; The Art of Conversation
