1990 - Drew University, Professor of Music (Madison, NJ) Conductor of the University Orchestra and Chorale
1970 – 2004 Summit Chorale, Music Director and Conductor (Summit, NJ) During this time, the chorus was built up to a stable, balanced group of singers who wished to sing at the highest level. In addition to the musical duties, Nair was responsible for developing and training volunteer staff to run all of the ancillary services needed for a concert-giving organization. The chorus featured great repertorial flexibility and performed music ranging from small solo ensembles to the glory of the large-scale choral/orchestral works. The chorus was a frequent guest chorus with the Waterloo Festival, the New Jersey, Westfield and Colonial Symphonies.

1974 - 1995 Chamber Symphony of New Jersey, founding Conductor and Music Director
Orchestra toured New Jersey from 1973 to 1980 giving 65 concerts. Programming ranged from the large-scale chamber works such as the Mendelssohn Octet to the symphonies of Haydn, Mozart, Schubert and Beethoven. Orchestra made its Carnegie Recital Hall debut in 1976.
1984 - 1985
New Jersey Symphony Orchestra, Assistant Conductor (Newark, NJ)
Responsible for conducting Young People's Concerts, the summer season and providing backup of guest and resident conductors during the regular season. Conducted ten concerts. Season highlight: conducted the gala opening of Somerset County College's new concert hall.
1975 - 1986 M.U.S.I.C., Music Director and Conductor (Plainfield, NJ) Conducted 38 concerts in repertoire ranging from the Medieval to the 20th-century. As founding conductor, developed the chorus that became known for its crisp ensemble and rich sound. In 1986, M.U.S.I.C. merged with the Summit Chorale.

1968 - 1971 Middlesex County College, Dir. of Choirs and Instructor (Edison, NJ) First full-time music instructor in the school's history. Developed the first music courses taught there. Instituted the college choral program.
1965 – 1968 Peddie School, Master of Choristers and Instructor (Hightstown, NJ) Resident dormitory master and master of music in this private school. In that capacity, developed a 40-voice choir of male voices that was widely used for school and alumni functions as well as serving in the Chapel services. Taught music appreciation courses and conducted the Peddie Band.
