The Visitors Program
Not a Student? No problem!
The VIcus ad Martis Tudertium Project has a program for people who are not college students, but still would like the chance to join in a real archaeological dig. Visitors work side by side in the field with students and staff, and attend all regularly scheduled trips and lectures while they are in the area. A few special dinners are also organized, and opportunities are available for visitors to schedule other activities with friends of the project who offer unique Italian experiences.
Visitors can stay at one of the agriturismi (a kind of B&B) in Massa Martana, or they can arrange their own accommodations. The price for the Visitors Program for the 2012 season remains the same as last year, $750 a week, and includes participation, lunch and dinner during the week, and transportation on whatever site visits occur. Visitors will be responsible for their own travel to and from the site. Participation in all aspects of the project is of course voluntary, and visitors have been known to sleep in on occasion. (Ribbing from younger students comes free of charge!)
