Kelley's World
"Maybe some women aren't meant to be tamed. Maybe they just need to
run free til
they find someone just as wild to run with them."(Carrie
Bradshaw).
I'm a
city girl known for her sarcasm and her love of Brad Pitt.
I often say I was born in the wrong generation-- would
have
loved to be a teenager in the 60's.
Other than being into pop
culture, I like
the subway and Thai food.
Books
"Books are humanity in
print." Barabra W. Tuchman
One of the loves in my life is to read, espically
literature.
my childhood I took a passion in delving into the minds and inner
thoughts of
these immortal characters. Through reading literature I found a solace
and haven
in connecting to these complicated individuals who seemed to share ideas
and experiences with me.
- Pride & Prejudice (Jane Austen)
- Eat, Pray, Love (Elizabeth Gilbert)
- Lullaby (Chuck Palahniuk)
- Strange Pilgrims (Gabriel Garcia Marquez)
Movies
Another love in my life is the entertainment of movies. Although I love all different genres of movies, the one common theme all share is they all have a deeper understanding and meaning of life. Movies not only provide entertainment but also serve as a means of escape, whether it's a bad day or your bored a movie puts you in a different world. Here are some of my favorites in no particular order.
- Fight Club
- Across the Universe
- Forrest Gump
- Moulin Rouge
- Shakespeare in Love
Music
An additional passion I have is music. Similar to my varying tastes in types of literature and movies, music follows the same path. To me music is a human universal where one has the ability to communicate great messages and connect on a higher plane. It is through music that people gain satisfaction in the idea someone understands them, and has the great ability to convey it though an unrestricted medium-- its honest and pure. Here are my favorite artists who voice that frankness in life.
