Dr. Colton is a professor of International Economics at Drew University. She received her Ph.D. from St. Antony's College, Oxford University, U.K. She is a specialist in Middle Eastern economics and speaks Arabic fluently. She has also traveled extensively in the Middle East conducting fieldwork in Egypt, Jordan, Syria, Lebanon and Yemen. She is also the author of numerous articles concerned with Middle Eastern economics. Some of her recent publications include "A perspective on the Future Dollar-Euro Exchange Rate: Implications for the Peripheral Mediterranean Countries" in the Thunderbird International Business Review", "Between 'Supply Shocked' Markets: The Case of Jordanian and Palestinian Returnees" in the book Structural Flaws in the Middle East Peace Process, and "Economic and Political Realities of Labor Migration: the Case of Yemen" in the book Social, Economic and Democratic Development in Yemen. She is also co-author of a book forthcoming in 2003 with Elsevier Press, Middle East Finance: Missed-opportunities or Future Prospects.
