INTRODUCTION:
Hi, my name is Peter E. Albar. I am a
Programmer Analyst in the Administrative Computing Department at Drew
University. I graduated from Montclair
State University (formerly Montclair State College) with a Bachelor
of Science degree where I majored in Computer Science and minored in
Mathematics.
In addition to creating/modifying the administrative
software, I do operations which entail printing jobs submitted in batch
such as reports, correspondence letters, grade reports, transcripts,
financial aid award agreements, monthly bills, semester bills, labels
etc... I am the help line for the administrative offices that may
have questions and concerns about their module. I train new users
for them to just get started using their department's module. I
do take inventory of the department and order supplies when
needed. I maintain the various equipment used by the
administrative departments such as printers, scanners (Scantron), the
burster/trimmer and paper shredder. I am the person that scans
each and every faculty/course evaluation at the end of each semester
which I look forward to each semester. I have created web pages
for Administrative Computing. I have created some online forms
for faculty/staff to fill out.

HOBBIES AND
INTERESTS:
I really enjoy working on my house and I have learned alot
doing so. I have become very comfortable doing carpentry and doing
electrical work. I can finally stop calling Home Depot my second home.
My projects have ranged from building a deck and finishing my basement
to installing ventilation fans and ceiling fans. I also know when it is
time to call a professional and I will not hesitate in doing so.
I try to work out at the Simon Forum during my lunch hour so
if you see me on the track running a mile every day or in the weight
room and/or Cybex room feel free to wave a friendly hello.
I also love travelling because of my Mom and Dad. I am very
fortunate that my Mom and Dad loved it too because we often went
camping while visiting many states (forty-five at the last count) with
Hawaii (on my honeymoon) being one of my favorites. I have also been to
the Philippines, Europe, Mexico and the Caribbean. Now that I am
married and have three children, I am not travelling as often as I
would like. I did have the opportunity to go to Disney World with them
and have found that travelling with them makes it even better and more
enjoyable.
I also play the alto saxophone for the Clifton Community
Band in which we performed at Congress Hall in Cape May, NJ this past
July 4th. John Philip Sousa, “The March King”
loved Cape May, NJ so much he wrote the “Congress Hall March” to
commemorate a series of concerts held there in the summer of 1882. The
Clifton Mustang Band Alumni Asssociation and the City of Clifton
sponsored Clifton Community Band made history at Cape May’s Historic
Congress Hall Hotel on July 4th by being the first band to play Sousa’s
Congress Hall March live on the very same lawn Sousa & The Marine
Corp Band performed 122 years ago! A crowd of over one thousand
gathered for the 2-hour concert & fireworks display.
I love reading Stephen King novels when I do have the time
but with all my projects and workout schedules I rarely have the time
to enjoy his large novels.
