I was an almost person
And I was feeling rather blue
Until I met another
Who was an almost person too.
We could laugh and we could talk
As almost people do
And when we were together
We made a little less than two
Soon we found our missing part
In almost person three
But his other parts were useless
To number two and me
So when we didn’t need him
Three sat all alone
Until another couple found him
Took his other parts on loan
Us five almost people
Made four people and no less
Until I found a more-than person
Who made us six and blessed!
But this more-than person
Seemed to run the show
And the five of us felt useless
We knew he had to go
And so we kicked out number six
And we were back to four
The five of us unequal
But all people less than more.
