I Did

At least I can say that I survive –

My parents, adolescence and you.

At most I can say that I lived –

Seized the day, as they would say

And the day had seized me too.

Nothing was done for nothing

I live without regret

Because living in that moment,

My mind in it’s disownment

My future was pre-set

Cause there was you and there was me

And all there was was us

Life is out there for those who don’t care

And for those who don’t discuss

So when I’m a hundred and sixty-five

And I’ve stopped living like a kid

I’ll sit down

With those who frowned

And tell them that I did.
