The papers and portfolio will follow a

written in prose form (unless you're feeling ambitious and want to try
blank verse), should be approximately one to two pages and should
address
the following issues:
-
Why the two papers selected were chosen (and why the third was not)
-
What strategies were adopted while writing the two papers selected
-
What strengths are demonstrated by the papers selected
-
What weaknesses the selected papers demonstrate
-
What strengths or weaknesses the paper not selected demonstrates
-
What aspects of writing the student would most like to improve in the
remainder
of the course
-
Anything else the student would like to say about his or her writing
The two papers
will be evaluated holistically as products and should be selected as
representative
of the kinds of writing the student can produce at this point in the
semester.
The
portfolios should

-
Each paper should have the student's name, professor's name, date, and
course name and section number (this is English 1 section 4) in the
upper
left hand corner of the first page
-
Each paper should have page numbers (please use the format of your last
name and page number) in the upper right hand corner of each page
