Downloading the Java 2 Platform, Standard Edition (J2SE)

1. Visit http://java.sun.com/j2se/1.5.0/download.jsp.

2. Click the link labeled Download JDK 5.0 Update 2. (As of March 2005, it's "Update 2," but it'll change frequently.)
   
   Clicking this link takes you to a license agreement page.

3. Click Accept, and then click Continue.

   Clicking Continue takes you to a list of files to download.

4. Click the appropriate file for your operating system.

   For most readers, I recommend the Windows Offline Installation, Multi-language download.

5. Return to http://java.sun.com/j2se/1.5.0/download.jsp.

6. Find the part of the page labeled J2SE 5.0 Documentation.

7. Click the corresponding Download button.
