Experience

She was Associate General Secretary of the General Council on Ministries of the United Methodist Church, a position she held for the past three years. She also served as Director of the Office of Research for the General council. Prior to these positions she was vice president and chief academic officer at the United Theological Seminary in Dayton for four years. Prior to her position at United Theological Seminary she was the first executive director of the Scarritt-Bennett Center in Nashville. She was instrumental in transforming that institution into a conference and training center for laity. In addition to teaching classes at United and Scarritt-Bennett, she also taught classes at Vanderbilt and the University of Massachusetts at Boston.

Family

She is married to Dr. David Ward Beach and is the mother of three: Christopher of Plano, Texas; Elissa Hall of Sacramento; and Sarah Cooper of Louisville,Ky. She also has four grandchildren.
