In actuality, the music we’re familiar with has beats which are differentiated such that we hear these common 2- or 3-beat groupings or combinations of 2’s and 3’s. The beat grouping is called a measure. It’s common knowledge that the most used beat grouping is 2+2=4, a 4 beat measure.
