I’m On Sale, 50% Off
There’s a dim light left on over me
reminding me why I’m here
a register receipt for broken thoughts
and smiles out of style
I’m on sale and he’s got a rain-check for tomorrow
fifty percent off my troubled mind
and he says that he’s buying
As soon as the coupon is in his hand
clip and save
All the neon wrapped up in my smile
I hold until he makes up his mind
maybe he can see that I've already been worn
lipstick stains from the dressing room
left out for a fool who’s ready to be fooled again
and my credit’s shot
but I’m buying too.
