Name That Mask!
Below are images of a new mask - one of Hoerknean's Singing Mask cousins.
It is carved basswood, with a Kudo horn that has a French horn mouthpiece
attached inside for sounding. From some angles, it appears horse-like;
from others, goatish; still others not unlike a mule. A 4-legged for sure.
I invite you to dream along with me (through Hoerknean) to discover this
spirit's name. Please send any suggestions to: nlowrey@drew.edu.
(as of mid-February, this mask became officially known as Sheeoué
Windhorse)
