The Program
The following 4-credit language and culture courses are available
with the Drew-in-Barcelona Program.
Language Courses: Every student will register for one of these
language classes at the appropriated level. This will be determined
by a placement test given at the beginning of the program in Barcelona.
Span 1: Fundamentals of Oral and Written Spanish
I
Span 20: Fundamentals of Oral and Written Spanish
II
Span 30: Intermediate Spanish
Span 107, 126, 128 and above: Advanced Spanish. Consult with Director.
Culture course: The following 4-credit course in culture will
consist of lectures and experiential learning, on-site visits to
selected institutions and other places of interest. All students
must register for this class which is conducted in English. For
Drew students, it fulfills your Language-in-Context requirement.
It also fulfills a course for majors or minors in Spanish
Span 117: Selected topics in Spanish (the content
will be determined on a yearly basis). This course can be taken even if students have already taken the class.

All academic facilities are located in an architectural modernist
jewel set on the Hospital de Sant Pau. There are computers available
for student use and several delightful cafeterias for mid-morning
