This picture
was taken on June 24, 2001. Hudson is now a year old. There's still a long way to go before he
matures physically, but he's grown into a delightful, intelligent, and entertaining
companion. He is never far from his favorite playmate, Crow. Now three, Crow
remains as different from Hudson in spirit as the difference in their appearance
suggests. They are my Night and Day.
Crow and Hudson again,
on June 24, 2001. I love the difference in their intensity. Crow's dark
eyes never leave the tennis ball being held just out of frame. Hudson's
gaze wanders, and the only time he's really keen about the ball is when

"What big teeth you
have, Grandma!" Hudson grins for the camera, celebrating his first birthday.
For his birthday, Hudson got a new backyard. The shiny fence and the piles of
dirt from the new postholes are evident here.
