Coyolxauhqui is the mysterious Aztec goddess who rules the area around Boulder, mystically known as the Lands of the Moon. She is most often referred to as the Lady, nothing more. John Twofeathers was the guardian of the Lands until his death nearly a year ago, and now Elizabeth has succeeded him. Elizabeth knows more about the Lady than any, but few secrets regarding this goddess have been revealed.

This god, or faerie perhaps, only intervened once in the affairs of the Valley. He arrived in time to stop the Princes of Cibola from extorting concessions from Elizabeth regarding their presence in the Lands of the Moon. He turned the Princes to stone as punishment for their behavior, and then left as mysteriously as he had come.

The god of the sun is the Lady's brother, a martial god of the Aztecs eager to join by her side. His had severed her head and hurled it to the sky to become the moon, and thus sealed the Lady's fate. His entreaties have not been well-received, and a battle royal indeed now looms.

This goddess, dead so many centuries ago, is the mother of both Coyolxauhqui and Huitzilipochtli. It was giving birth to her son, the sun, that caused her daughter to slay her, and this act of matricide was revenged by Huitzilipochtli by decapitating his sister and hurling her head into the sky, there to become the moon.

The god of the dead and brother of Shane, Baladoc leads the old gods who wish to destroy the wayward deity. Although slain in a duel with Shane at Christmas, do not count out the god of the dead merely because he has joined his own realm beyond the mortal coil.

Sardonius is new to the Valley, but he has already managed to anger or offend almost every resident, including the Lady herself. He is an exile, from both Hell and Heaven, and is very bitter. Still, he hopes his time in the Valley will lead to redemption.

A powerful mistress of Hell, this succubus was once betrothed to the god Shane. The Lightbringer has sent her to the Valley to seek out her husband and aid him in an upcoming struggle. The Lord of Lies knows well what the future will bring for Shane, but until the events transpire, Glasyra will do nothing to influence the flow of events.
