This man is a government agent, affiliated with the NSA. He came across Elizabeth and Greg while pursuing Adam for his own purposes. His casual and calm attitude seemed very strange, especially after Shane killed one of his men. His conversation with Elizabeth revealed his true motives, the investigation of the supernatural, in an effort to block the influence of secret societies on the government.

This strange man accompanied Mr. Jeffries when he met Elizabeth and Greg. Elizabeth's vision about a strange tattoo on his chest has led her to call him 'the Hanged Man', and she suspects he is a vampire hunter. He obviously possesses powers beyond the norm, to what extent is unknown.

Amanda is Howard's human lover. Her meetings with Elizabeth and Lucy have been rocky to say the least, and she does not have a very high opinion of the guardians at this time. Howard's expulsion from Heaven has improved his standing in the Lands of the Moon, but Amanda is not quite ready to forgive and forget.

Maggie is Bear's wife, and the mother of Nathan. She is heartbroken at the sudden death of her son, coming so close after his reunion with his parents. She weeps in the cave she shares with Bear, and his rage is only stoked by her sorrow.

Elizabeth invited her Abuela to come and stay in the Valley after Elizabeth became the guardian. Her Abuela is an old woman, but a strong-willed one, and she has given her granddaughter good advice since she has come.
